Setting Of My Film

Hi everyone, this will be a short and simple blog post about the location(s) my group will be filming at and why we really chose it. The location or setting of the film is important because it can help create the scene. The location is a part of mise-en-scene in a film and it can help create tone, representation, etc. in a movie, especially with the use of props. So let's have a look at my location and why my group chose it.

Behind our school!

This was the location where all our shots were filmed, yes they were filmed in one place! Although we thought it was a bit risky to do so we did make it work. In our storyline a girl is walking home and gets murdered. We decided that she had been walking in an ally or behind a building and there is where she got murdered so it made sense that our flashback and dead body shots were in the same location. This location was actually behind the school which allowed us to get time during class to film all these shots. We did have the choice to film outside of school but with our busy schedules and our guardian's busy schedules, we quickly realized that we should try our best to film somewhere within the school. After a while of searching, we thought behind the school or in front of the school in the parking lot would be a good place to film, and we chose behind the school. We made the shots all work out and for our lighting, we are able to edit the lighting so I am very pleased by that.
