Actors for my movie

Image
Hi guys, today I will be talking about the actors in my film and how they affected the schedule of my group's film. So today's blog will be pretty short again, but let's jump right in. Main Actor: Sarah Alexander was the main actor in our group's film. (Btw that's ME) I was the main actor so I played the dead body and the girl in the flashback. In our film opening, you going to see my face all the time. The actor affected shooting schedules because without an actor in our film, my group could not film. If I was not there or I could not film that day then I could not film that day. For example, there was 1 day when I did not know we were set to film so I did not bring my costume, obviously, without my outfit, I could not act that day so we had to film the next day instead. Basically what I am saying is that you're going by the actor's schedule, and you have to make your own around that.  Sub-Actor: Jennifer Blandon was the sub- actor in our film. (A.K.A the

Setting Of My Film

Image
Hi everyone, this will be a short and simple blog post about the location(s) my group will be filming at and why we really chose it. The location or setting of the film is important because it can help create the scene. The location is a part of mise-en-scene in a film and it can help create tone, representation, etc. in a movie, especially with the use of props. So let's have a look at my location and why my group chose it. Behind our school! This was the location where all our shots were filmed, yes they were filmed in one place! Although we thought it was a bit risky to do so we did make it work. In our storyline a girl is walking home and gets murdered. We decided that she had been walking in an ally or behind a building and there is where she got murdered so it made sense that our flashback and dead body shots were in the same location. This location was actually behind the school which allowed us to get time during class to film all these shots. We did have the choice to fil

Distribution Company

Distribution Company: Distribution companies  A film distribution company is responsible for the marketing and distribution of your films to the public. Films can be distributed through theatrical, video on demand (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.), DVD, and new media. Without distribution, your film will be a flop because no one will know about it. Now I will talk about the distribution company I think is best for my film, if it was a real movie I was going to put out in the industry.     Paramount Pictures:   I believe that Paramount Pictures will be the best distributor for my company. This company is a part of the big 6 so whatever is released will already have people who would like to watch it. Due to it being a big company I feel that when distributed more people are likely to give the movie a chance and see what t's about. Paramount pictures are also known to release many mystery films, in fact, there is one movie released that we (my group) found was remarkably like our

Financing Research

Financing Research: Hi guys, welcome back to my blog. Toda y we were told to do some research about financing. Financing is important in the filmmaking industry because the production team needs funding to pay for every step of the filmmaking process. Although it is a difficult task it is achievable to find financing. Most films are financed through a combination of investors, tax credits, grants, and other sources.  These are the questions we're asked to answer: How would a filmmaker convince a production company that their film is worth financing? Consider the business side of the industry. How would you "sell" your film and make back everyone's money? These are some good questions so let's answer them. What I Would Do: So when you're trying to find your financing, you have to give a compelling speech. You have to convince them that your movie is worth their money and that it's a good investment. I would talk about the message that is behind our movie w

Production Company Research

Production Company Research Hi everyone, today I was assigned to research what production companies I would go to if I was really filming this entire movie. In the filmmaking industry finding a production company is very important. Production Companies are  mostly centered on the pre-production process. They can help develop content, produce content, even help with post-production, or hire directors and crew. finding the perfect production company is a big element in making a good movie. My group is doing a mystery film, which is what I will be centering my research on. So let's get started! Tower Hills Entertainment: After lots of research, I found Tower Hills Entertainment to be the best option for our film. I think this production company is great because it usually comes out with mystery movies. It was one of the Production Companies that produced a popular movie called Murder Mystery. Because our film and that film have a few similarities I think that Tower Hills would be per

Scripting

Image
Scripting: Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. In this blog, we will be talking about the importance of scripting, examples of what scripts look like from my genre, and how my script looks. Importance: Scripting is very important in this process because that is when you think of all your shots and describe the little details within them. This is when you can really start visualizing everything that will be happening in your opening scene such as the transitions, dialogue, etc. Since scripting is so detailed it allows filmmakers to film quickly because everything they want is right there. Examples: This is an example of a horror/thriller movie script called 10 Things I Hate About You.  This is the link to find it in case you are interested:  https://www.dailyscript.com/scripts/10Things.html   ScreenShots Of 10 Things I Hate About You: Here is another part of it with more dialogue This is another example of a horror/thriller called Anatomy of a Murderer.
