Hi everyone, this will be a short and simple blog post about the location(s) my group will be filming at and why we really chose it. The location or setting of the film is important because it can help create the scene. The location is a part of mise-en-scene in a film and it can help create tone, representation, etc. in a movie, especially with the use of props. So let's have a look at my location and why my group chose it. Behind our school! This was the location where all our shots were filmed, yes they were filmed in one place! Although we thought it was a bit risky to do so we did make it work. In our storyline a girl is walking home and gets murdered. We decided that she had been walking in an ally or behind a building and there is where she got murdered so it made sense that our flashback and dead body shots were in the same location. This location was actually behind the school which allowed us to get time during class to film all these shots. We did have the choice to fil...
Introduction To Everything: Hi everyone, this piece of my blog will focus on what I will be doing and talking about in most of my blogs and who I will be doing this with (a.k.a. my group members). What’s Going On? This blog is for a college-level class I am taking in high school called Media Studies. In this class, we have learned about the 4 key concepts, stereotypes, social groups, representation, how the media works, etc. At the end of this class, a part of our final quiz is a project. This project requires us to create an original 2-minute opening scene to our own original movie. The first semester in school helped us prepare for this as we learned all the important components that go into our movie. I will be recording my progress in doing this project in his blog so I hope you follow along on my journey. My Group: My group consists of… Canidate 1: Shivanie Rambaran Canidate 2: Jennifer Blandon Most groups consists of 4 people but we were not able to find a 4th person that met our...
How things are in other Mystery Films Setting/Time: In mystery films, there is a wide variety of settings for openings scenes to have. Most of the time people make opening scenes in dark empty or deserted places but that's not always the case. Sometimes the opening scene in this genre may use a flashback, a fash forward, or tell a story about what happened. All these can take place in different settings like cars, a house, and even a mall. In mysteries there is not a set group of settings where opening scenes take place, it depends on the movie that is being made. When we talk about the time it is shot we can say that usually it is shot in the dark or in the nighttime because it helps created a mood or tone to begin the movie. Not all opening scenes shoot like this but it is a popular way to create that tone and mood. Intended Audience: I believe that mystery films are usually watched by people between the ages of 16- 30. The reason I say this is because people who will watch myst...
